Early Life and Education

Erica Czajkowski was born and raised in the vibrant city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Growing up in this diverse and dynamic community, she developed a passion for helping others that would shape her future career path. Erica’s journey in the field of psychology began with her pursuit of knowledge at the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

Professional Journey – Current Orenda Counseling Internship

Erica’s dedication to understanding the human mind and her desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives led her to embark on a career in mental health counseling. Currently, she is on the path to obtaining her Master’s degree in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling at Duquesne University, a reputable institution known for producing highly skilled and compassionate mental health professionals.

During her academic journey, Erica has had the privilege of working under the mentorship of Ellen Freise-March as an intern. This invaluable experience has allowed her to refine her counseling skills and gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of mental health treatment.

Erica’s passion for helping others extends beyond the classroom. She brings over two years of experience as an addictions counselor, where she provided support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. Her commitment to her clients’ well-being and her ability to foster a safe and trusting therapeutic environment have made her a valued resource in the field.

Areas of Interest and Specialization

Erica’s professional interests lie in working with adolescents and adults facing a wide range of mental health issues and diagnoses. Her diverse background and experience enable her to approach counseling from a holistic perspective, tailoring her methods to meet the unique needs of each individual.

Furthermore, Erica has set her sights on a specialized field within mental health counseling. She aspires to become a licensed sex therapist upon her graduation from Duquesne University. This specialized path will allow her to address intimate and sensitive topics, helping individuals and couples navigate their sexual and relational well-being.

Diverse Experiences

Before entering the field of psychology and counseling, Erica worked as a Certified Veterinary Technician, specializing in surgical care and anesthesia. This previous career reflects her compassionate nature and her ability to provide care and support to those in need, whether they have two legs or four.
